Don first formed Aural Sects in 1985 with a keyboardist, a musician also interested in electronic/ space/ ambiant music.The current incarnation of
Aural Sects formed as three members of the Neo-Pagan chorus Gaia's Voice
began to explore forms of music broader than a choral context. Don and Melissa became housemates (along with Don's wife, children, another choral member and an assortment of critters). They call their household
Harper Hall. Radzy, the drummer, bought a small sail boat and took a three year sail around the Pacific Islands. He kept his djembe and left his doumbek, tar, and other drums in
safekeeping at Harper Hall.Radzy has returned and is now living at Harper Hall. He still sits in and drums with the band, but these days he's far more interested in mastering the band's Mackie 1604-VLZ mixer. Aural
